What is a WhatsApp follow-up sequence?
A follow-up sequence is a series of WhatsApp messages that go out to a contact automatically over time, on a schedule you set once — for example, one message the day they are added, another 3 days later, and a third 2 days after that. Liliya sends each message on the day it is due, so nobody has to remember to send it.
How do I set the gap between messages?
When you build the sequence, you set the gap in days before each message — 1 day, 3 days, 2 weeks, whatever fits how long your customers take to decide. The count starts from the day a contact is added to the sequence, so every contact runs on their own timeline.
Does the sequence stop if the customer replies?
No. Once a contact is in a sequence, every step goes out on schedule, even if they have already replied. Write your later messages so they still make sense to someone who is already talking to you: a useful tip or answer reads well either way, while "Still thinking it over?" does not. Their replies come into your inbox like any other chat.
How do contacts get into a sequence?
Add a single number and assign it to a sequence, or upload a list and assign everyone on it in one go. A common setup: reply to a new enquiry yourself, then add that number to your enquiry sequence so the follow-ups take care of themselves.
Do sequence messages need to be approved templates?
Usually, yes. WhatsApp only allows free-form messages within 24 hours of the customer's last message. Follow-ups that arrive days later fall outside that window, so they have to use a message template approved by Meta.
What does each follow-up message cost?
On top of your Liliya plan, Meta charges a fee for each template message it delivers. For India, marketing messages cost roughly ₹0.80–0.90 each as of early 2026, and utility messages cost much less. A 3-step sequence sent to 100 contacts is about 300 messages. Meta revises its rates from time to time, so check its current rate card.
Can I see where each contact is in the sequence?
Yes. For every number in a sequence, Liliya shows which step they are on and whether each message was sent and read. So you can see who got stuck at Message 1 and who has read all three.
